On this page you will find our quarterly investing letters that we send to clients, as well as any other investment related articles we write.
Q3 2024 Letter: Transitions and Timing
Q2 2024 Letter: Flexible Discipline in Investing
Q1 2024 Letter: The Art of Selling Stocks
Q4 2023 Letter: Reasons for Hope, Concern
We feel it’s important and useful to be transparent in our investment decisions and our views on the market. These letters will focus more on the former; which stocks we have bought or sold, why certain companies and stocks are performing well or poorly, and how we are acting or reacting to developments.
We have fewer interesting things to say about the broader stock market or economy, but we will provide some analysis of the market for context.
Clients will receive these letters along with details on the specific performance and constitution of their portfolio each quarter. For clients of the passive investment strategy, this will be less specifically relevant – that strategy by definition does not reflect our stock market analysis – but should give insight into both what’s happening in the market and how we think.
You can read our most recent pre-Middle Coast Investing letters on Short Investing Guide. We will only share the letters written since the inception of Middle Coast Investing here.
You can also read Daniel’s writing on Seeking Alpha; articles since 2020 are most relevant to his current investing strategy.
Important notes and disclaimers: Performance is currently calculated manually. Any performance data should not be relied on as it is prone to manual error. Past performance is not indicative of future results. We share the performance to be transparent, but performance, like the stock market, fluctuates.
